Rubbing alcohol did the trick! You can still see the remnants of the boy's "very special" (as he called it) art project if you peer closely, but I am going to follow up with some saddle soap over the weekend and hope that takes care of what remains.
There was this day M and i were sitting on the couch and looked over at Bunny. He was sitting on the rug calmly running a Sharpie back and forth in rhythm.
We got it most of it out and the rest blended in, but yeah...

ha! we have a similar situation "18-months" - "on grandma's wall" -- but the medium was pencil ;)
